Ok, enough of the niceties...

Well, we got spanked last night. True.

But: apart form these guys being pretty good, we were just, once again, short on subs. I think this is lame. Im my book, unless someone has an injury (Jon, Joe, Luiz) or is out of town, he plays...so: here are some honorable mentions in the category "lamest excuse":

*drum roll*

Number 1: Mark Jaynes
Says he has to help his brother in law fix up something on his house. Dude, an important soccer game is THE excuse to get out of shit like that!

Number 2: Kevin Jarvis
Really, I don't know what to say. (a) His wife has a soccer game the next day and (b) he needs to help clean the house because guests come on Thursday. Well, what's wrong with this picture? (a) Workdaze soccer is always more important than other games and (b) an important soccer game is THE excuse to get out of shit like that!

Number 3: Kevin Roberts
Just because someone has to get up early for a flight to a customer does not mean he can't play - I think Armin has proven that last week....soooo, I am sensing a lack of commitment...and, as always, an important soccer game is THE excuse to get out of shit like that!

Secial thanks to Bonadio for ditching the kids and coming out to play. Double thanks to Luiz for coming out to support us during the game although injured...

Let's step up the attendance boyz!!!

Awaiting re-flames.....

Game report: Workdaze - Clayton FC 2:6

There is not much to say. Clayton is a good team and we were missing too many players to have a chance. Until halftime it was 1:2, but we couldn't keep it up in the second half and lost 2:6 at the end. You cannot really shine in such a game, but Ralf saved us several times not to get 10 goals or more, and Frank gave us many times a rest by going through their defense like a knife through hot butter.

We need our best players and a decent amount of subs to beat Clayton FC, but we can do it.

Scores: Armin (1), Thomas (1)

PS: Special thanks goes to Michael B who changed his plans for Tuesday evening to show up after hearing that we are short on players.

Game Report: Workdaze - Vanderbilt 7:4

Well, since noone is keeping up with the reports, here we go: After last seasons's fight club with V-bilt, we were ready for the re-match. We still had plenty of folks out of commission (Luiz, Attila injured, other on business trips). We ended up with 2 subs to start off. We took a 2:0 lead (I think both by Joe) and ended to first half with a 2:1. Jon hurt his ankle on a nasty tackle by their striker and was out for the game. With one sub only we got to a 4:4 tie with 10 minutes to go. Despite looking a bit tired, we fought them off and Joe, Armin and Thomas contributed to the 7:4 win. Strong will wins in the end!

Now, some details: Joe was definitely MVP with 4 goals and lots of great plays to put off the pressure. Armin played despite having worked hard all day at the KANA go-live and flying out to Oregon next day at 6. It paid off and he scored 2! Ralf had a Salva moment in goal for the first, but all other goals were rebounds. Jarivs played well, but refuses to get on the scoreboard, even with an empty goal in front of him. I think Mark will score first actually...
