Recap:
It's 10pm, do you know where your soccer team is? Usually most of the Workdaze team members are home sleeping. Tonight they were gearing up for their once-a-session late night game against Fred's Market.
After a 6-2 drubbing by Fred's Market last session, Workdaze was wary of the revamped Fred's attack. Early on Fred's had a nice pass and volley goal, and it looked like it may be a tight game. But Workdaze was able to focus on Fred's key ball handler, and take advantage of the weak and sloppy play of the Fred's defense.
By halftime, Workdaze had opened up an 8:1 lead, and both teams looked ready to head home to bed rather than finish the second half. Workdaze forwards started to lose focus and committed 3 Mercy Rule Violations. The second half saw each team adding 2 goals for the 10:3 final.
The win may be a costly one however. Thomas had to come off the field when he felt a pop in the arch of his foot. Initial fears by team doctors is that the injury may be a Plantar Fascia Rupture. Thomas is scheduled to have an MRI on Friday.
Workdaze now has 20 goals vs 5 against through two games, on pace to shatter the single season scoring record and goal differential.
Vanderbilt is up next.
