Workdaze secures first place in regular season

In a hard fought game, we beat D4 last night with a satisfying 4:2 win. D4 is a strong team and they most of their good players, but with a lot of runniong and disciplined defense, we wore them down.

First half started well with a 1:0 by Ralf and nice combination by Mark and Dan for the 2:0. Second half things got rougher (as usual with the absent minded ref). Geoff got 2 blue cards for nice foul plays, Dan almost got into a fight and got a 4 minute yellow card and Joe got his obligatory blue card to just being on the field. Even with 2 man off the field, we remained dangerous and Thomas scored with a beautiful shot from midfield over their goalie, who was out somewhere on a field trip, the loser. Joe scored a nice goal, but then D4 finally got on the scoreboard with 2 goals.

In the end, with a hard fight for every inch of the filed we held on to the lead and for the first time in Workdaze history locked the first place in regular season. Now it is time to focus on the playoffs and make the triple a reality!
