Recap:
Workdaze continued it's strong play with a 5:2 victory over a very strong Survey FC team. The game was highlighted by strong play from Kevin in goal, and the first ever goal scored for Paul. It was an enjoyable game all around as Survey is fun team to play that always plays hard but clean. The Sunday night start meant that Rick was the ref, and as usual he called a very fair game.
The first half was closely contested with both teams having scoring opportunities. Survey added a new lefty with a hard shot that Workdaze hadn't seen before. Kevin made some great saves on some very hard shots. Workdaze continued to score in bunches as they extended a 3 goal lead as the half came to a close.
In the second half Workdaze lost focus early and allowed an immediate Survey goal. But the team regrouped and was able to regain the 3 goal advantage. From that point, Workdaze focused on defense and was able to wear down and frustrate the Survey attack and melt the clock.
The game concludes a very strong first half of the session for Workdaze. They are undefeated, and hold a 22 goal differential over their opponents. The team has played very well as a unit with both offense and defense having strong contributions. The reemergence of Kevin in goal has provided the consistency that has been lacking for several sessions.
However, the second half of the session will present some new challenges for Workdaze. It is still unknown when Thomas will return, and Kevin's new baby arrival will once again throw the team into a goalie controversy.
Next game is another tough one against D4.
