...or "how to give away a game after a solid lead".
After a crushing loss against the cars last week, we needed to step up this week. We were almost full strength with Joe returning to the field, but with Thomas injured.
We played well in the first 10 minutes and got a 2:0 lead by goals from Dan and Ralf. Then Giullermo acted up and started helpgin the other team out with ridiculous calls (Joe 4 minutes, Armin another 2). We survived a 3 on 5 period without goal, then took a deflected shot for the 2:1. Joe scored the 3:1 in the first half and we were not looking too bad. In the second half we soon got another penalty, but Joe scored a short hand goal on a beautiful throw from Kevin in goal. The last ten minutes should have been our game, but we gave the game away.
The ref did not the game help, the Citicars are were playing pretty much unfair the whole time, but we should have held the lead. Our final 3 minutes should have yielded a goal, but the game ended 4:4.
Overall, we all played well under our possibilities and never really got into this choppy game. But next time we will beat them for sure!
