Zach Jarvis and Luke Korngiebel in tight battle for new goaltender position?

With the breaking news about Luke Korngiebel vying for the new goaltender position. An unknown youngster orginally from Munich, Zach Jarvis, has also auditioned for manager Thomas Schwarz, and it sounds like he impressed. "There's no Munich bias here, he really is a fine goalkeeper. Just look at that uni, he could already play over Kahn or Lehmann on the German team!" said Thomas Schwarz.

Incumbent goalie Kevin Jarvis has commented that he's awfully nervous with these two up and comers closing in on him fast.

Workday Striker to miss next match...

Workdaze Striker Complains about Keeper Situation, plans to miss next match

In an act of defiance of which we have not seen since Jurgen Klinsmann left Germany for sunny California during Germany's 2006 World Cup preparations, Joe Korngiebel has told the press that he will "sit out" the next Workdaze match to focus on trying to find an "answer" for the squad's keeper situation. A source close to the team has reported that the team's leading scorer is "disappointed with the effort in goal" that he has seen from the club's latest experiment at keeper. "When I was training with the other side, I was able to literally walked right into our goal. In that same training session, I watched a guy that wore 'white' cleats score on a donkey kick against our goalie! That's right -- a $!@%# donkey kick. Perhaps I need some time away from the squad to focus on looking for some alternatives." Rumors are swirling that 6 month-old Luke Korngiebel has been working with dad and may be ready to join the club sooner that expected. The young Korngiebel's trainers and doctors have been amazed with his hand-eye coordination, and the squad could really use some youth.

Workdaze wins ... Joe defects?

SAN RAMON, CA (AP) -- A great win for Workdaze. 6-1 at halftime, leading to D4 pulling the plug and calling it a day.

But the bigger story of the day is the potential defection of Joe Korngiebel. With D4 down and out, halftime saw an amazing turn of events as Joe ripped off his Wordaze jersey in favor of the D4 attire. He proceeded to play the entire second half for the D4 team with no remorse. Rumors are swirling that he preferred their finesse style of play over the tough gritty style of the Workdaze team. It was also overheard that he was especially happy with the quick feet of the high school all-star who also joined the D4 team post-halftime.

"Yah, Joe was a nice addition to the D4 team. We'll definitely be inviting him back." said John "yellow socks" Doe, D4 team manager, when reached for this story.

"The way the ball just sticks to his feet, he's a great player. We're going to really miss him." Workdaze team manager Thomas Schwarz was overheard saying.

When contacted by phone, Joe declined comment. His wife was reached at home, but claimed he was not home, but out playing soccer. hmmmm...

Was he out practicing with D4? Will he return to the Workdaze team next week? Will Thomas let him back on the team? So many open questions, only time will tell what happens next.

Until next week...
