Recap: The Workdaze season came to an end with a 5:4 defeat in extra time in the semi-final. Early on the Workdaze defense had Citicars confused and fighting amongst themselves. Citicars could not get their offense on track, and had trouble moving the ball from their half. They were literally shrugging with confusion trying to solve the Workdaze press.

The game had the feel that 1 goal would decide it. After many close opportunities by Workdaze, Citicars finally broke through the Workdaze defense and scored the 1:0 late in the first half. Workdaze played the better half, and even though they were down a goal at the break, the game seemed to be within their reach.

The second half was a back and forth affair. Workdaze was able to get the equalizer for every goal that Citicars scored. Unfortunately they were unable to pull ahead. Armin scored the first, then Thomas turned in to a scoring machine. His first goal he "foosed" the Citicars defender when he tried to clear the ball too close to his own net and Thomas blocked it in to the goal. Thomas' next goal came on a free kick from just outside the Citicars zone from the right side. It looked like an impossible angle, but Thomas drilled it through the entire defense and past the goalie. Thomas scored the equalizer late in the second half to force extra time with a beautiful shot in the upper corner.

In extra time Citicars scored the 5:4 with 1:30 to play. Workdaze tried to mount the comeback once again, but ran out of time.

Overall, the game was a great team effort. Thanks to Dan for showing up even though he has a new baby. Mark had to watch his 3 kids, but brought them all and the team chipped in to babysit so he could play. Sameer fought through injury to play excellent goal in the first half. Paul chipped in to play solid goal in the second half. Thomas even took time off from his concert tour to join the team. It was clear from this session that teamwork is the key Workdaze advantage against all the other teams...
