Recap:
Workdaze's march towards perfection continued this evening with a strong team effort over D4. The leading scorer in Saul, and the team's best defender in Seamus were missing, leaving the team with 9 players - a low turnout for this session. The team was able to step up and contribute in an all-around effort. The highlights of the team effort came on Geoff's first and second goals of his career and Thomas playing through injury.
Thomas, recovering from injury, came to test his injured foot. Initially, he planned only to play for part of the first half to test things out. Unfortunately early in the first, the other half of the German contingent went down with an injured foot. Ralf's injury put him out of the game, so Thomas continued playing for the entire game.
Early on it looked like Workdaze's quest for perfection was in jeopardy. The team was flat-footed in the first half with players looking to each other to make a play. They gave up an own goal, and two other easy goals. Kevin made some good saves to keep the deficit to 3:2 at halftime.
The second half was close early. Frank moved up to offense, and Mark helped back to defend the speedy D4 striker. Workdaze scored first to tie the game, and it was back and forth until the teams were tied at 5. Then Workdaze was finally able to break down the D4 team and capitalize on the weak goalie. Four more goals were added by Workdaze before D4 was able to score again with time running out.
The game marked the third of the session that Workdaze put up 9 or more goals. In addition to the perfect session, Workdaze is on pace for a record setting goals scored(41) and goal differential(25).
When asked for comment on the chance for a perfect season, team captain Jon said "We play eight 1 game sessions, and hope to make the playoffs. We aren't looking beyond our next opponent"
The next opponent: Tap Out.
